Rings of Septa: Cuttlefish Casting Workshop with Smith & Sun

Forged in fire and shaped by ancient tides, our Cuttlefish Casting Workshop invites you to step into the elemental craft at the heart of Smith & Sun. Guided by Tara, you’ll carve your own design into cuttlebone (the same material used by ancient metalsmiths) before pouring molten, ethically sourced metal into your hand-shaped mould. As the metal cools, it captures every organic ridge and mark you’ve made, creating a rugged, one-of-a-kind ring that echoes primordial landscapes and ancestral talismans. Rooted in myth, material, and mindful making, this immersive session offers a chance to create your own unique amulet. Participants will leave with a completely unique ring, hand-forged by them in pewter. Please wear full covered shoes and non-flammable clothing (. ).Free tea & coffee will be provided.Workshops run on a Sunday at the Smith & Sun Stella in Margate. Dates & times: Sun 11 Oct · Sun 8 Nov
