Mercy Girl

Mercy Girl is sensory euphoria and contemplation. Formed in 2024 by members Daisy Miles, Davey Purdie, Craig Harkness and Kylie MacNaughton, the Glasgow based electronic outfit explore themes of love, despair and the uncertainty of the human experience. Taking inspiration from EBM, Darkwave and Electro-Pop, Mercy Girl invokes both the solace of a dark empty highway, and the surrender of a neon-hazed dancefloor. Since launching in November 2024, the band have amassed a global audience and a cult online following. Having their music regularly played at, and being used to promote dark scene club nights everywhere from Los Angeles to Berlin. The band sold out their debut headline show in The Hug and Pint in Glasgow and have shared the stage with Justin Warfield (She Wants Revenge) at a sold out Oslo in Hackney, London. Their latest single ‘No Sound’ was featured as Track of the Week on BBC 6 Music, alongside strong support from BBC Introducing Scotland with an Artist of the Week full feature. “This jaw dropping debut self-produced and engineered single from the Glasgow-based electro outfit is an earthshattering slice of icily gothic and dense synthpop married to stark, alien hushed vocals like lost cave sounds. Put simply, it is like a lost addictive classic from Crystal Castles, or Chvrches after being forced to watch The Exorcist ten times.” – Ranked #2 in the Top 100 Tunes from Scotland 2024 – The Herald, Dec 2024 https://www.heraldscotland.com/news/24821003.top-100-tunes-scotland-2024-pt-4-25-1-taahliah-joy “It’s deeply reflective, it’s meditative but still pulsing and driving. Their sound is so uniquely placed between rock and electronic. I really think that this band are gonna be an absolute household name” – Phoebe I-H, BBC Introducing Mixtape on BBC 6 Music, Track of the Week, 9th June 2025 “Hauntingly moody and sensuously atmospheric, yet simultaneously uplifting, cloaked in a hazed dark veil of introspective desolation, the track unleashes relentless quick throbbing, droning bass loops, slashed through by an urgent pounding drum programming, injecting gloomy shadows into a sadly sinister environment, lit by glowing synths, to orchestrate a swirling aching drama atop pain-filled sultry vocals, changing to rapid edgy spoken words, amid ebbs and flows of echoey dissociation.” – Track of the Day, White Light White Heat, Feb 2025 https://www.whitelight-whiteheat.com/wl-wh-track-of-the-day-mercy-girl-g host/
