Sophie Calle: Drawing Tour
This session invites participants to slow down, observe the artworks, and explore through drawing. Focusing on one or more key pieces, you’ll take both your mind and your pencil on a discovery journey.
Each session typically includes:
1. Welcome
Begin in the Sunley Gallery with an introduction to Sophie Calle and the exhibition. Your facilitator will set the scene and share a few simple guidelines to help you get the most from the experience.
2. Mindful drawing exercises
Ease into the session with a series of calm, guided drawing activities. These short exercises explore themes found in our Sensory Bags, encouraging you to engage your senses and draw with intention.
3. Focus on an artwork
Together, you’ll spend time with a selected artwork from the exhibition. Your guide will offer a rich, descriptive exploration of the piece, inviting questions and conversation to deepen your understanding.
4. Creative activity
You’ll then be invited to try a drawing prompt inspired by the themes of the exhibition. This hands-on activity encourages playful experimentation and personal interpretation.
5. Time in the Drawing Studio
The session concludes in our Drawing Studio, where you’re free to continue developing your artwork or choose new objects to explore through drawing at your own pace.
