Attachment | Love Against the Clock - A Soundtrack Journey through 'Interstellar' (2014)
A guided listening experience exploring attachment, time, and sacrifice through Hans Zimmer's ‘Interstellar’ score at Margate Arts Club
About this event
A guided listening experience exploring attachment, time, and sacrifice through Hans Zimmer's ‘Interstellar’ score.Join us for an intimate two-hour journey from cornfield closeness to the impossible distances of space. Zimmer connects family grief to cosmic scale through quiet piano, ticking percussion, and an organ that becomes engine, cathedral, and elegy.Listen for the moment time stops feeling abstract and becomes personal. As love and duty pull in different directions, notice how repetition gathers emotional weight, and whether the final return offers peace, acceptance, or something less settled. The experienceConnect, relax and quietly settle in with 30 other guests, in the intimate and comfortable surroundings of the Margate Arts Club.Rather than watching the film, we’ll listen to the score as a story. Expect a focused soundtrack listen, minimal non-distracting visuals and text to set context, and a relaxed discussion about how music makes time feel personal, connecting distance, attachment and sacrifice on screen. For Interstellar fans, soundtrack lovers, film fans, DJs, selectors and anyone interested in intentional listening. The venueThe Margate Arts Club is a joyful, DIY, inclusive, intersectional, community organisation running since 2015.
